baby zucchini

19 Week Update from babycenter.com:
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.

One more week until we reach the halfway point in the pregnancy! I can't believe we're almost halfway. I have a countdown going since once we reach 20 weeks I get to stop the heparin injections that I've been giving myself twice a day since 8 weeks. Yeah!! I'm feeling pretty good overall, and I'm almost positive that I have been feeling the baby move the last few weeks. The other day I even felt the movement on the outside of my stomach! The baby's movements have still been too quick for me to have Ken feel them, but hopefully soon that will happen.

A week from Tuesday is our ultrasound, it will be wild to see a baby this far along, all of my experiences with ultrasounds thus far have been really early on. I can't wait. Hopefully we'll be able to find out, also, if this is a little girl or a little boy! We'll keep you posted. If you want, you can add your prediction to the comment section below this posting...we'll see who is right! :)

I think it's a girl!! Too bad she can't keep her 6million eggs to carry on the Knoles name forever. . .oh wait, she won't be a knoles.
Hey, where's the picture of you? I want to see what this zucchini looks like from the outside!

Hi! My vote is for a girl (sorry Ken!) who will be an awesome softball player! I'm ready for a new belly shot too! Can't wait for Sunday-Happy Birthday for mom-to-be, no more Heparin and bruises, and soon to know who our grandbaby will be!!
Praise God for all 3 of you!!

Love, mom (dad has to cast his own vote!)

it looks like i'm going to go against the grain with the ketcham women and say that it's a boy...which i guess means that he will be a big cardinals fan, right? hopefully, he'll be loyal to CO and be a bronco's fan!

I agree with Caroline, but we're definitely in the minority! I think it is a boy, too. If I have anything to say about it, he will be a Bronco fan, even if he's also a Rams fan!!

Thanks, everyone for your comments. It will be a fun thing to keep for the baby later on!

I think it's a girlie girl, too! I'd like to think that the world's next Super Girl loves pickles and ice cream. And with all that Heparin, she's GOT to have acquired some super human powers! :)

Well, I'm usually WRONG on these things, but I think you're having a girl, too, Carrie. I can't wait to hear what it is tomorrow!!! We had fun at your birthday party last night. :)

This is old Peg....The book I have tells that the baby looks like certain fruits and vegetables. I haven't figured out which would be the better looking...but I guess I vote anyway. I have mixed feelings....but my guess will be a girl--A Great Grandma
