twenty months and thirty weeks!

This week marks Brooke's 20-month-bday and 30 weeks for this pregnancy! It is hard to believe that Brooke is almost two. The past months have flown by so quickly! And I'm thankful to be 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy, but I am absolutely HUGE! I feel bigger now than I was at 40 weeks with Brooke. Sigh. Only 10 weeks to go, I'll need a wheelbarrow for my belly by then! This week's cooler weather has been a very welcome change from the extreme heat we've been having.

For some reason blogger is not letting me type on the top of my blog entry, which is very frustrating. So I'm having to write below this photo. Anyway, here are some things that Brooke is interested in at 20 months:

Her favorite summertime treat is to sit at her picnic table on the deck and have ice cream. Of course, most of it goes all over the place, but she obviously doesn't care! I have been amazed at how her vocabulary has grown lately. I especially noticed a difference from 16-18 months, and even more the past 2 months. She is a little chatterbox most of the time, and we can usually understand what she's saying. She tries to count to 10, but it is usually 1,2,3...5...8...9...! She loves singing ABCs, and is trying to learn to use utensils. Her favorite is "appa-shaush" (applesauce), and we love hearing her ask for it. "appa-shaush, please?" She also loves to lift up my shirt and give "baby sister" a hug. We'll see if that sentiment continues when baby sister is getting all of mommy's attention!

Mmmm...ice cream!

Another new favorite...walking around in mommy & daddy's shoes! I must say that my shoe obsession has slightly rubbed off on my daughter, I think she has more shoes than I do! She frequently opens her dresser and pulls out various pairs for me to put on her. She is frequently running around in her PJs and knee-high boots or flip flops!

Hi!!! Congrats on almost being done...then the real fun starts! Ha ha. I was the same way with Eli and Jasper. I gained only 20 pounds with Eli and he was 9+ pound baby. I gained around 30 with Jasper and he was a little over 6 pounds. I don't understand it. And every day for the past couple of months my grandmother used to say "you cannot get any bigger, you sure you aren't having twins..." It was funny.

He he - your story about Brooke with your tummy made me laugh :)

K* is so sweet with my tummy, too. The other day she came over and lifted up my shirt and gave her brother a kiss. Sometimes she lifts up my shirt to show him a book she is reading. Oh, it's so sweet.

Hopefully this means both of our firsts will adjust to a sibling well!

Good luck with the last few weeks of your pregnancy :)
