tummy time

I've started trying to do tummy time with Hailey, and it is SO hard! I hate watching her struggle to try and keep her head up, and I just want to rescue her and pick her up! But, I know it is important, so I try to keep going. Here are some shots of our first attempt at tummy time. The first one is after just a few seconds, but it didn't take long for her to get frustrated!
Mommy, what are you doing to me?!
The other day I used my boppy pillow and she did better, but I think I allowed her to cheat a bit with the big pillow. She was definitely happier this time, though!
Oops, my head is getting too heavy!
Here's Brooke at around the same age on her tummy:

two months old!

Hailey turned two months old on December 2. She is sleeping very well, usually only waking up once in the early morning to eat. She was 12 lb. at her 2-month check up, Brooke was 12 lb 5 oz at her 2-month. It will be interesting to compare their height/weight as they grow!

Here are some recent pics at 2 months old:

Hailey is such a sweet smiley baby. I love her smiles, they light up her whole face!

And here are some photos of the two girls that I took for our Christmas cards...

new pics of Hailey

I took a bunch of pictures of Hailey the other day to use for her birth announcement. It was a lot of fun, and she was mostly cooperative! I haven't really edited any of these yet, but wanted to get them online since I haven't posted new photos in so long! At this age, Hailey is changing so quickly!

When we went to the doctor for her 2-week checkup, she was asleep most of the time (as she is quite often during the day). As the appointment was ending, she opened her eyes, and I looked at her and said hi. She gave me the biggest smile! And I'm sure it was a real smile! The pediatrician was amazed, she ran out in the hall and told the nurse "this 2-week-old just smiled at her mom!" How fun. I think it is the real thing because she often looks at us and gives us a huge smile. I think that God knew that I needed some encouragement during my long times alone with both kids, her little smile makes it all worth it!  Here are the photos:

Don't you just love babies' little feet? How cute!

I love her eyes in this one...
