Hailey at 17 months old
Hailey is also a crack up right now. She is a total chatterbox. I am sure that Brooke didn't know half as many words as Hailey does at this age. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that her big sister is talking almost non-stop all day long!
Hailey loves to sing. She can sing all of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the ABC song. She can also count to ten. When I put her to bed and she doesn't fall asleep right away she usually lays in her crib and sings or counts! It is so funny. Her singing is done on her terms, though. If someone sings a song to try and get her to sing it, she looks at us and says "No!" or "No ABCs!", etc.
She can copy almost any word we ask her to say. I think that we overdo the vocab lessons, though, because sometimes she will walk around saying "Say Daddy! Say Mommy! Say Brooke!"
Here are some of her words...listed here so that I can remember her at this age. I didn't document Brooke's language development and can't remember how many words she knew at various ages.
mommy, daddy, Brooke, Jake (the dog), milk, juice, shoes, socks, bread, please, thank you, no thank you, jacket, hat, outside, basement, upstairs, bye bye, car, bus, baby, doggy, ducky, bear, bottle, water, fruit, cookie (a favorite word), seatbelt, diaper, bath (another fav), night night, light, Dora, penguin, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, cracker, banana, apple, spoon, yogurt, chicken, french fry, brush, tummy, nose, ear, hair, fingers, ball...
I'm sure I'm missing some, I will come back and add them later.
I am really loving this age with Hailey. I think that around 18 months is one of my favorite ages. It is so fun to see Hailey's personality coming out, I love watching her toddle around and have an opinion about so many things!
