road trip!

We recently returned from a road trip to Illinois to visit Ken's family. We drove the first day to Lawrence, Kansas...it was fun to be back in my college town! We didn't have much time there as we arrived late and left fairly early the next day. We wanted to make sure that Brooke could swim in the hotel pool because we had been telling her about it, so we had a quick swim in the morning before leaving. She LOVED it! Hailey was not too thrilled with the water, it was a little chilly.

Here are the girls packed in the car and ready to go! Our car was filled to the brim with stuff. How did we need so much for one week?!

Ken's brother Wayne came from Indianapolis to be with everyone for the week. He and Ken's parents all enjoyed meeting Hailey for the first time.
While out to lunch with Ken's family, Brooke decided that she wanted to hold Hailey. She was sweet with her and did a great job!
One day we went to a local park so that Brooke could run around. It was great except that we arrived at the same time as 4 school buses full of kids! It was a madhouse. Brooke loved the see-saw the most!


On Friday night while Ken was at the Cardinals game, I took the girls to Taylorville to visit some family friends. My friend Kristen's son Henry is just a couple months younger than Brooke. It was fun to see them play together a bit.
Caroline was so sweet with Brooke and wanted to play with her. Brooke had to borrow Henry's clothes because she decided to get in the pool with all of her clothes on!
